Texas ranks in the bottom quartile of the nation for health
Texas ranks in the bottom quartile of health of the nation, according recent reports. As a state with one of the highest rates of uninsured – a little over 25% – not a surprise to many.
Just over 15% of all Americans do not buy health insurance, totaling nearly 48 million. This statistic is regrettable a time when Medicare is reached historic funding cuts under the Bush administration. The concern is not so much the number of uninsured but what kind of health care not – are insured.
Even representatives from large organizations such as the purpose fund nonprofit Commonwealth beginning to admit that the attention of health quality in the United States does not only depend on the location where you live, but whether or not you have health coverage. At least one fourth of people without health insurance, for example, received a recommended test in 2004 because of its cost.
The devastating report by the Fund has openly declared this week a strong relationship between the coverage of health care and access to quality care. We studied mortality as breast cancer and uninsured income preventable hospital, among others. If all states implemented drastic measures to provide health insurance to more people (like Hawaii and several U.S. East Coast where 90% of adults of working age are not insured), no fewer than 90,000 deaths could be avoided, 22 million more could be insured and the insurance program could save Medicare $ 22 billion.
Strange to think that in a country to base their morality on the belief that all citizens should be treated equally – and that everyone, whatever their nationality, have certain "inalienable rights" – tens of thousands people literally dying due to lack of insurance.
The problem can be attributed to any other factor. Most professionals health care, for example, are compassionate people redouble their efforts to provide quality care. However, many facilities treat people low income do not have adequate staff, resources, equipment and time to manage all their patients effectively. The condition is so expensive because its side effects, such as high rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and certain cancers such as breast cancer. Some also argue that the psychological effects – depression, anxiety, unrest, low productivity, to name a few – Are rarely associated with disease documented at all.
The issue has already been rejected by public officials for fear of being accused of insensitivity, but obesity is actually a legitimate health problem which must be addressed. Its causes are varied only exasperated by recent reports that eating healthy is much more expensive than otherwise. While many people are uninsured income and a low percentage which are obviously too fat, it is more difficult for people with this problem to take steps to improve their condition. Not only can many Texas obese not pay for adequate health care, but we can not afford subscriptions to the health club or the most healthy food more expensive. Leaving aside the issue of low-income population, it does not help. In fact, costs the state millions.
The rate of diabetes in Texas, deserves also considerable attention. Since 2004, about 500,000 Texans had been diagnosed with diabetes, with the hope that the number could rise. However, improved health care is not possible without addressing the situation, or the real causes of it. Government programs must establish a more effective recruitment plan to increase medical quality applied to action, and more affordable health insurance available.

How can I add my father to my birth certificate?
