Oh boy, I hope that I step in here. I've been a doctor / fireman for 25 years. By signing my "source" of info 50,000 911 races really seriously. I worked in a busy system. I have no idea how many times we have done CPR. I'll tell you, and sense of insult anyone, I've often thought, "How this is crude," these attempts to move blood through external compression, especially when they are continually interrupted by ventilation, impulse control, intubation, medications, etc. defibs And worse, I have absolutely no better ideas to offer. Right now, the RCP is the best we can do (apart from other measures of ALS.)
