What is a real solution for a married couple with 3 young children to stay committed to weight loss?

We are on the road to heart disease, diabetes, and a life of obesity. Worse, I fear that our children will be there soon. Joining a gym not an option because we can not get a babysitter for every day and we can not afford. I feel like I can be more involved then my husband, because I've lost 1 / 3 the weight and have really accepted my problem. I need some real solutions that really work! Maybe something related to a commitment that can not be broken or daily routines that can become habititual.

First, eliminate all fast food from your diet. Learn to cook together, involve the husband and children. Feeding your family healthy snacks, carrot sticks, raisins, apple slices, etc. Then, find an activity the whole family can do, walk with the dogs, children in strollers or on their bicycles. Last but most importantly, turn off the television and video games. Subscribe to the children for T-ball or soccer, swimming lessons, all outdoors.
