Diseases caused by not brushing your teeth?
My stepfather is 46 years old and not brushed his teeth in 35 years, pure laziness and it's disgusting. His teeth are pretty rotten mouth, I have a newborn, and I wondered what if any, diseases are caused by not brushing your teeth? I know that heart disease, but I do not really like being with my son because of how dirty is the mouth should be about it. Anybody know of any "tips" or advice about what lurking around in the mouth that everyone in my family should be careful? Thanks
Actually Lippylou is correct. The bacteria can be transferred from person to person (including you for the baby), so I'd advise you to not let daddy kiss the baby's mouth. Otherwise the effects of health poor oral only effect of it, such as gingivitis, periodontal disease and other diseases that are commonly seen in association, such as diabetes and heart disease.
