Understanding how cholesterol can cause heart disease
Cholesterol is a fatty, wax-like substance produced by the body and is in a wide variety of foods rich in saturated fats, greases. In normal amounts, cholesterol has a number of beneficial functions inside the body, protecting cells altered blood and attend a series of cellular processes. However, when excess Cholesterol is a major contributor to heart disease is now recognized as a major cause of heart failure and stroke.
The main reason that cholesterol causes heart disease is that clogs the arteries, preventing proper blood circulation in the body. The muscle of the arterial wall works in conjunction with the heart when the heart pumps blood into the arteries, the muscular layer relaxes, allowing blood to completely fill the arteries when arteries filled with blood, contracts the muscular artery, causing blood vessels in all parts of the body. The integrity of layers arteries (the muscular layer, in particular) is essential to effectively conduct the blood (which contains oxygen and nutrients) throughout the body.
When excess cholesterol compromises the integrity arterial wall, which covers the soft arterial smooth inner layer. Cholesterol deposits in the arteries eventually leading to the formation of a thick plate which completely covers arterial smooth layer and affects the elasticity the muscular layer as well. The condition is called atherosclerosis and can eventually lead to a heart attack and accident movement. Even when the disease is not fatal (not including the coronary arteries), but their health deteriorates, thereby depriving the body of oxygen supply and essential nutrients.
To effectively prevent the deterioration of the arteries caused by high cholesterol, that are is a healthy eating plan and good exercise (to improve blood circulation and help remove excess cholesterol). Anti-cholesterol are also a good option for the prevention of atherosclerosis. These medications help to reduce cholesterol levels by reducing production of the substance in the body or help the body excrete the system.
