It reduces red grapefruit risk of heart disease

Eating a red grapefruit a day could reduce by 15 per cent cholesterol and triglycerides by 17 percent and protect against heart disease.
Researchers at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School have made studies in vitro studies in humans on the antioxidant effects of red and white grapefruit.
Grapefruit and other citrus fruits are known to contain high concentrations of antioxidants like vitamin C and polyphenols, especially flavonoids. The study argues again be the first to observe the types of grapefruit and their influence on humans suffering from cholesterol in the blood (hyperlipidemia) and hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), both of which play an important role in heart disease.
In vitro studies to measure the activity activity antioxidant in terms of recruiting radical model beta-carotene linoleate, and the ability to absorb oxygen radical (ORAC). Grapefruit Red has been peeled Superiors of 15 per cent in beta-carotene, and 10 percent higher absorption of radicals.
To test in humans, 57 patients after bypass cooperation with high levels of triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia) were divided into three groups. The struggle against the standard regimen of two groups of atherosclerosis has been supplemented by one Israeli Jaffa red or white grapefruit for 30 days. The third group ate the standard diet and was considered the control group (CG).
Fight against atherosclerosis Diet is the energy standard of 66 percent grasses, 25 percent protein and 9 percent fat.
Search results in humans showed a generally accepted antiatherosclerosis grapefruit diet supplemented by new positive blond or red on the rate serum total cholesterol and LDL [bad] cholesterol (LDL-C), said the lead researcher, Shela Gorinstein.
Scientists suggest that the benefits Health grapefruit are most likely due to the antioxidants present. However, the researchers could not explain the differences between the types of white and red.
We can not exclude that only red grapefruit varieties contain some special bioactive compounds which are responsible for reducing triglycerides effect, "said Gorinstein.

question about heart disease?

Earlier heart disease 1900. was not even the cause of the tenth per cent Party death? Now the number one killer why? Any doctor can answer my question and it is in the 1900 s eating meat grilled over charcoal pure milk to drink, even while eating butter with everything, the use of animal fats such as butter, eggs, bacon, cooked these products, as consumption of sugar cakes, donuts, etc. Also like a drunken fool and chew and smoke CIGS and cigarettes too? Explain why they were healthier than us? Could it be compressed air, steroids are injected into chickens and pigs and cows we eat? Is this why Americans are getting fatter and sicker than at any time before? Please answer!

You have basically answered your own questions. I grew up on a farm and ate all, and we worked hard and have never been heart problems. There are so many chemicals in the air today and in food. Our body is 3 / 4 full of water so you should drink lots water to eliminate toxins. Take your weight and divide by 2 and that is how many ounces of water you should drink daily. We also need to be in the supplements as the soil is so depleted of minerals and nutrients we need daily excercise. I thank God for health and I am 77 years young acouple months.
