Free radicals – the secret anti-aging and disease

"All diseases are caused by free radicals."
Dr. Sherry Rogers, MD – a leading figure in family medicine and the environment.

In 1956, Denham Harmon, MD., PhD., A proposed his theory of aging free radicals. According to this theory, the aging process involve cellular and molecular damage caused by free radicals. This theory is still strong with free radicals and antioxidants is the buzzword today in the fight against aging and to a lesser prevention of disease noted.

Thus, apart from this section becomes a complex chemistry and very boring and physiology of the fall to see if when you can reach the heart of the same address the following:

# What are free radicals?

• How to damage the human body?

• How Nutrients Antioxidants help protect the body against free radical damage?

¨ What do I prevent the free radical damage?

What are free radicals are formed and how

A free radical is a hunger for bare electrons (1).

How are free radicals? Basically, the nucleus of an atom is surrounded by a cloud of electrons. These electrons around the nucleus in pairs, but occasionally an atom loses an electron leaving the atom with an "unpaired electron. a free radical, also known as the reactive species oxygen (ROS) (1).

Free radicals are very unstable and react quickly with other compounds, trying to capture electrons necessary for stability. Generally, free radicals attack the nearest stable molecule, "stealing" its electron. When the "Attacked" molecule loses its electron, it becomes a free radical itself, beginning a chain reaction. Like dominoes, once the process has begun, it can cascade, finally resulting in the disruption of a living cell. (2)

When free radicals kill or damage enough cells in an organism, the organism ages. Dr. Harmon launched his theory by showing, for the first time, that feeding a variety of antioxidants for mammals have extended their life expectancy. (3)

Free radicals arise normally during metabolism. Sometimes system cells immune body to neutralize the purposes of creating unpleasant insects such as viruses, bacteria. Candida that sneaks in bloodstream is a target. However, environmental factors such as pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides can also generate radicals Free. We aspire to more than 500 chemicals on the environment every day just in the average home (1).

Usually, the body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if free radical production becomes excessive and deficient leaves our arsenal and unable decontaminate chemical attack next time the damage occurred. Damage cause symptoms such as headaches or mood swings, then Domino's disease.

How antioxidants can prevent against free radicals Antioxidants act as sponges mope free radical damage and outside the fires of destruction (1)

Antioxidants neutralize free radicals by giving one of their own electrons, ending the electron "stealing" reaction. A single pair of electrons that makes them happy and not destructive. The antioxidant nutrients themselves do not become free radicals by giving an electron because they are stable in whatever form. They act as scavengers, helping to prevent the cellular and tissue damage that could lead to cell damage and disease. The vitamins C and E are two antioxidants.

Vitamin E – the Fat most abundant soluble antioxidant in the body is one of chain transactions most effective antioxidants available. Main defense against oxidation and is supposed to protect against cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin C – The most abundant water-soluble antioxidants in the body. It acts mainly in the liquid cell. A particular interest in the fight against the formation of free radicals caused by pollution and cigarette smoke. Many studies have linked high intakes of vitamin C with low rates of cancer, particularly cancers of the mouth, larynx and esophagus. (2)

How can I prevent free radical damage?

Before you go out and fill your pantry with mega-doses of these vitamins have been prevented more is not always better, and synthetic versions can be problematic and not absorbed by the body. Your metabolic rate also dictates how they are influenced by different doses of vitamins because all react the same

Here are some initial steps:

Eliminate processed foods and substitute chemicals and organic foods free from. Remember that "if it was about 10 000 years do not eat. "As for the reduction of chemical pollutants in your home, office and beyond. Add Detox. However, it is a good idea to consult a specialist First who can assess your level of toxins and recommend the right approach, because you could be buying expensive and unnecessary, and possibly products unfit

Conclusion

So is the control of these free radicals, the secret anti-aging and disease prevention? Definitely looks depending Research continues in the puzzle. But the fund is following the steps, probably in the right direction towards the fountain of youth and a long and healthy life.

In favor of marriage is in bad taste?

My father passed away 5 years ago of a heart attack / heart failure. I been active with American Heart Association since he was diagnosed with heart disease. My boyfriend's father died 10 years ago a heart attack. At our wedding, instead of favors, I would like to make a charitable donation to the AHA in each of the names of guests. It's just a small way to remind our parents in a very special day. My FH thinks that this is not entirely successful and think you should stick to something more traditional as candles or something. What you think?

Make a donation instead of favors is perfectly acceptable. However, make donations in the names of your guests. Some do not want to be associated with this organization (you never know). So, in his own name but in memory of his father and since in cards put on the tables. could put something and: As we begin our new life surrounded by loved ones, we can not stop thinking about our families who may be here. Instead of favors, a donation to the American Heart Association has been made in memory of father novia. Thank you "__________, to be part of our special day.
