heart disease asd
Do you have a son, nephew / niece or friend with congenital heart disease?

Is your son, nephew / niece or friend had surgery open heart? Who was diagnosed with ASD hole in the heart? How is the operation? Please say something about the following surgery.

Both my daughter and I were born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a defect that included a hole between the ventricles, and a couple of things. Both had surgery. I was three, and she was four months. Children recover well from the surgery even faster than adults. The CIA is a partnership between the atria and is fairly common, most need surgery dont. But if surgery is needed, that the repair is done quite often, As far as lifestyle, we have a normal life, I played softball and never felt any heart problems. If the CIA is repaired I can not see why not a may have a normal active life. Some ASD can be fixed in the catheterization lab without open-heart surgery. It is relatively new and not all doctors know how, but may be something worth asking. Good luck!
