angina remedies

Angina or simply chest pain, refers to the feeling of discomfort in the cheat, neck, back, or jaws while doing certain activities or even while at rest. All people may experience this condition but it is often seen in men and women who are in their mid forties or so. Studies have noted several causative factors for this condition which may include genes, unhealthy life choices, health conditions, and at times, medications. Various angina remedies have also been cited, ranging from lifestyle choices to surgeries.

Several studies have stated that mild angina may be treated through changes in a person’s daily routine. First of, quitting vices like drinking and smoking will help prevent constriction of the blood vessels, second, weight management through diet will reduce the heart’s stress and workload, third, getting into physical activities such as low key exercises or just by simply walking for a few minutes everyday will help restore the normal rhythm of the heart, lastly, taking some time every week to relax and lower stress reduces the workload of the heart.

There are times when two angina remedies will be used to treat the condition. In some cases, lifestyle changes will be collaborated with taking medications. Aspirin, which helps in the prevention of blood clustering, calcium channel blockers, which works by dilating the blood vessels and promoting relaxation of the heart muscles, beta blockers, which works by blocking certain hormones to prevent the heart from exerting too much force, and statins, which function by reducing the levels of LDL or bad cholesterol and maintaining cholesterol in a normal level. These medications are the few of the most prescribed angina treatments. For some cases however, taking medications do not work, which will then mean that surgery will be the patient’s option.

Surgical procedures are usually done to those who are experiencing severe angina symptoms that cannot be remedied through lifestyle alterations and medications. Surgeries like Angioplasty or the insertion of balloons or stents to artificially expand the arteries, and Bypass surgery where in another vessel will be extracted from some parts of the body to be used as another passage for blood, are the most common procedures done for the said condition.

Doctors say that despite having various angina remedies, people should plan out how they will be able to prevent the condition from happening. Being cautious about food, habits, or medications, and getting checked every once in a while will help a person keep the condition far from happening.
