angina heart attack

Heart attack pertains to a condition where in there is insufficient blood flow towards the heart. It is usually caused by blockages from plaque build ups from cholesterol and other debris or blood clots. If a portion of the heart does not get enough oxygen, it will incur permanent damages. There are several proofs that angina heart attack are related to each other.

Angina is the condition where in pain is felt in the chest area. Some people feel the pain either on their backs, neck, or jaws. This condition may be classified into two which are:

a. Stable angina, wherein the heart works more than usual. This often occurs when there is too much exertion. It can be remedied by resting.

b. Unstable angina, where in it happens even while at rest. The pain from this problem is usually not remedied through medications or rest, and usually lasts longer.

Unstable angina is considered to be a warning that a heart attack is about to happen.

The most common symptom of an impending heart attack is the feeling of pain or pressure in the chest area. The occurrence of angina heart attack means that the arteries where the blood supply of the heart passes through is already totally blocked and already needs immediate treatment. However, angina may also be felt even before the arteries are completely obstructed. The narrowing of these vessels causes mild chest pains which may be mistaken as indigestion or muscle strains.

Heart attacks may be remedies either through medications or surgeries. People who experience the condition are initially given aspirin to thin blood and prevent it from clustering. Thrombolytics will also be given to eradicate clots which have already formed. Other medications to help relax the heart may also be given but only in limited circumstances. In the hospital, doctors may run several tests to determine whether a person’s blood flow returned to normal after taking medications, if the blood contains harmful substances, if the heart is beating normally, and so on. If the problem is not alleviated through medications, surgeries such as angioplasty or bypass may be advised.

Doctors say that having a heart attack will mean permanent damage to the heart and will likely reoccur some time. Simple ways to prevent it from recurring is to be familiar with symptoms like angina heart attack, avoid vices especially smoking, eat foods which are high in fiber and other essential nutrients, manage other conditions that you may have, be more active, relax every once in a while to reduce stress and follow whatever your doctor has instructed you.
